The examination is an evaluation intended to quantify a test- taker’s skills, knowledge, aptitude, mental ability or classifications. Ancient China was the first country to conduct a national wide examination. Education is the most important necessity because it is related to knowledge and that is power. Definitely marks does not matter in the long run but skills and knowledge have a long way to go and thus it is very important to study with concentration and proper focus.


1. Know your syllabus

When you won’t have knowledge about your syllabus and proper subjects then the pace for studying won’t create. Knowing your syllabus sets a tone for the student and it also makes an impression on the student. There will be topics in the syllabus which are easy for a student and difficult for the other thus knowing it will help increase the possibility of planning the study session well and scoring good marks.

2. Find an appropriate place to study

A proper environment increases the chances of concentration. The place should be comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. You can find a place that is quiet like a separate room or a library which helps you to focus. Everyone has their own way of dealing with things and similarly some people might find a very quiet place more advantageous and other a very noisy place.   Find a place where you can easily avoid distractions. If you don’t know your study preferences then experiment with different places and ways and then whatever makes you comfortable stick with it.  Always Believe in yourself and don’t panic.

3. Gather your notes and study materials

Keep all your study material like notes, highlighters, books, study guides, modules ready and keep them as near as possible so you won’t have to go and catch up on them regularly. Most important keep the List of Best Books Recommended by toppers for the exams like NEET, UPSC, and JEE 

4. Give yourself enough time to study

A student should know that the best results come from long term practice. Some students believe that they will be able to study at the last moment and mug up everything but it is widely seen that it is not true and is not accepted by most of the students so a student should give himself enough time to study and not compare himself with others because everyone’s time of grasping things is different. If necessary, one should take proper examination leave from school or college to perform better.

5. Time Management

Set up a timetable for your study and abide by it. See what subjects need more time and work on your weak areas. Write down your examination schedule, their time and where you have to sit for them and then organize your study accordingly. Find a study routine that you are comfortable with and which that covers your maximum syllabus. Do not wait till the end moment to study it will only create unnecessary pressure and stress.

6. Use Flow charts and Diagrams

Visual representation really helps in remembering and can be really helpful while revising. At the beginning of a subject, challenge yourself to write down everything you already know about a topic - and then highlight where the gaps lie. Closer to your test, condense your revision notes into one-page diagrams. Getting your ideas down during this transient format will then assist you to quickly recall everything you would like to grasp throughout the test.

7. Clean the area where you are studying

Clean the area you are studying and organize your study space. Clear away materials you do not ought to study, and keep your space organized to reduce stress and allow for better concentration. Having any materials around you that don’t directly contribute to your concentration solely function potential distractions. Think about what suits you and then take time to get it right.

8. Divide your Studies into steps

Make notecards, flashcards, small points that helps to remember. Use highlighters and try to relate the material with something in your life so that it becomes easy for you to remember it in the exam.

Take the help of diagrams because diagrams have a more visual impact while we are reading than what is written. For example: in our childhood, we always use to look for images in the books because pictures form a better impact on the human brain and thus if we are able to understand the subject with diagrams and pictorial representation then it becomes easy to memorize.

Try to understand the proper meaning of what you are reading and then write it in your own language this will help in creating the answers during the exam because questions are not always direct.

Do revision as it is very important and revision helps in gaining the knowledge not only for the particular examination but also for a lifetime.
